Maldini, la svolta fashion è anche British

Paolo Maldini & Christian "Bobo" Vieri

BE HERE CIAO

MAMMA Mia! Manchester is going mad fer all things Italian these days.

Italian football legend PAOLO MALDINI and rocker LIAM GALLAGHER have gone into business together.

And the move comes hot on the heels of ROBERTO MANCINI's recent appointment as Man City chief.

Ex-AC Milan star Maldini has pumped a lot of lira into Pretty Green, Liam's thriving clothes business.

And the odd couple, who have known each other for years after meeting on an OASIS tour, have grand plans to become a leading fashion house in Europe.

A source said: "Liam has long been a fan of Paolo Maldini. They met when Oasis were on tour in Europe years ago and kept in touch.

"Paolo has had a long and distinguished football career and is starting to consider hanging up his boots for good.

"He has been looking into investment opportunities and Pretty Green came up in a conversation when Liam announced the big launch in London last year.

Wedge

"A lot of work has gone on behind the scenes over the past month to make it happen but the money has now been agreed which will take Pretty Green to the next level."

I never thought I'd see one of the most famous footballers of all time discussing parkas with a lad from Burnage.

Maldini is just one of the army of heavyweights supporting the singer's clobber firm.

Big bucks investors on New York's Wall St have pumped in mountains of wedge and Liam, who released Be Here Now with the band in 1997, has put his money where his large gob is too.

Getting some other top names involved in the brand will only help sell more threads on the Continent.

He should tap up ALESSANDRO DEL PIERO too - he's a pal of NOEL's.

Former and current Oasis frontman Liam was waxing lyrical only this week about his admiration for Roberto Mancini's fashion taste.

The City gaffer, known as "Bobby Manc" to the Blues faithful, hit the headlines recently for his stylish take on wearing a scarf in Man City colours.

Liam said: "The scarf is cool. I want one. Mancini looks good, but then all Italians are cool."

None more so than Maldini.

another article by Simona Marchetti, writing on the 2 main Italian newspapers (they're from Milan), about Paolo collaborating with Liam, as it was written on The Sun.

no Oasis name and no Noel tunes

I had already announced that Oasis new album was coming out in July and the tour maybe from the end of May, and that they couldn't use the name Oasis and Noel songs for the gigs.
Let's see which tunes they could perform live, apart from those on the new album.

Well, having a look here, a concert without Noel and the whole Noel stuff will be very different, though there are some songs I love, as Turn up the sun, Thank you for the good times, Pass me down the wine, To be where there's life, Boy with the blues, etc.

I put in capital letters those which could be more likely performed (or already performed)
(songs by Liam apart from those with Andy-Gem names)

Little James
Thank you for the good times (Andy) (live it would sound great)
HUNG IN A BAD PLACE (Gem)
SONGBIRD
A quick peep (Andy)
BORN ON A DIFFERENT CLOUD
BETTER MAN
Eyeball tickler (Gem)
Won't let you down
Pass me down the wine
The quiet ones (Gem)
TURN UP THE SUN (Andy)
Love like a bomb (Liam-Gem, performed only in playback for tv shows)
THE MEANING OF SOUL
GUESS GOD THINKS I'M ABEL
Keep the dream alive (Andy, same as Love like a bomb, this one live would sound great, in a stadium as well, also for the final na-na-na)
A BELL WILL RING (Gem)
I'M OUTTA TIME
TO BE WHERE THERE'S LIFE (Gem)
AIN'T GOT NOTHIN'
The nature of reality (Andy)
Soldier on
Boy with the blues
I believe in all

+MY GENERATION (The Who)
+I AM THE WALRUS (The Beatles)

Turn up the sun, with some cute girls :)

Won't let you down

Keep the dream alive

new Oasis album in July

and the tour will start maybe at the end of May... they should start back again from Milan... then we wait for Noel solo album and tour...

Liam Gallagher: 'My post-Oasis album will be out by July'

Plus singer regrets the band's 'poor' workrate

Liam Gallagher's new band are aiming to release an album by July.

The singer says that his new group – featuring former
Oasis bandmates Andy Belland Gem Archer – had eight songs, and are aiming to head into the studio soon.

"A lot of these songs I wrote before the band split up,"
Gallagher told XFM. "I mean, there's a few new ones on there that are coming out now."

He added: "We're going in [the studio] in April with a producer, we're going to do three songs with him and if he doesn't balls it up and we don't balls it up then we'll go in and do the whole album with him."

Gallagher suggested he was keen to get on with the new, still nameless group - saying he regretted the fact that Oasis only made seven albums in the 16 years they had a record deal. He called the amount of music Oasis' put out in their career "poor", and chastised the band for taking so long to produce new material.

"Seven albums for
Oasis is not good, I don't think. We've been going 18 years, 16 years or whatever and all we've done is seven albums. Ian Brown's on his seventh solo album. I just think it's poor, really,"Gallagher said.

"I'm not going to beat myself up about it, I think we should have made better, bigger albums. Or more albums. Having like four or five years off is just no good," he added. "Obviously
Noel wanted a bit of time off and we don't. The band split in August – we was in the studio in November 'cos we're mad for it."

Elsewhere in the interview,
Gallagher said he wants to appear on 'I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here or Total Wipeout – but only if no other contestants are involved.

"I'd like to do all that shit," he said, before adding that
Total Wipeout is his favourite reality TV programme of the moment. "They do it in Argentina. I'd love to do it on my jaxy, with no one about."

I dunno what Liam is saying... Oasis never had more than 2-3 years without albums, it's normal for a big band (1994-95-97-2000-2002-2005-2008, and you have to add 1998 b-sides album, 2000 live album, 2006 greatest hits album)

about news from England there was something else today: the new McLaren with Button and Hamilton.
Number 1 again... There was also an Italian journalist speaking a funny English making strange questions to put them in difficulty... but they looked like they're gonna have a lot of fun and get on well together.

McGee: Coldplay are a dilution of a dilution of a dilution

Alan McGee: 'They should get rid of the Brits awards'

Scottish music mogul also slams nominees Coldplay and Paul McCartney

Former Creation Records chief Alan McGee has called for the BRIT Awards to be scrapped.

In an interview, the Scottish music mogul blasted the awards questioning the way they are run.

"They should get rid of the Brits,"McGee told The Daily Record. "[They should] start again with 20 music journalists who actually care about music getting together, instead of a bunch of self-interested record company people who just vote for their own acts."

Slamming some of this year's nominees in the process, McGee blasted Coldplay's nomination for 'Best Album Of The Last 30 Years', for 2002's 'A Rush Of Blood To The Head'.

"Coldplay are a dilution of a dilution of a dilution," he commented. "Chris Martin makes me want to eat someone else's earwax rather than listen to his records."

McGee, who discovered bands such as Oasis, Primal Scream and Glasvegas, also found time to take a shot at former Beatle Paul McCartney.

"McCartney should retire," he insisted. "John Lennon is probably firing bullets from another dimension as we speak."

He added: "Music should be like football. Once you turn 40, you should become a manager or get lost. It's for kids. You lose perspective. You don't have 66-year-old football players. There's a reason for that."

Meanwhile, Upside Down a film documenting the 16 year history of Creation Records will be released this spring.

Then he said the Rolling Stones should retire as well.

Su Facebook pullulano i gruppi contro i Coldplay.
Sfigato.

Creation movie and Microdot anniversary

Upside down

uʍop ǝpısdn is the movie out this spring about the story of Creation Records, the label of Alan McGee, the man who discovered Oasis. The Man! And also bands as Primal Scream, you surely remember the videos with Kate Moss. Then: Ride (Andy Bell), Heavy Stereo(Gem), etc.
Hitting the cinema screens worldwide in March/April of this year with a host of special events planned featuring various bands, members of bands and celebrity djs.
In cinemas globally early 2010. TV/DVD spring/summer 2010. Millions of sales, near bankruptcy, pills, thrills, spats, twats, success, excess, pick me ups, breakdowns and of course some of THE defining music of the late twentieth century, this is the definitive and fully authorised story of the UK’s most inspired and dissolute label.

Microdot 1990-2010
New video for the 20 years of Microdot, made by Brian Cannon, the man who created the first 3 Oasis cds, singles, the Verve, etc. (I mean the graphics and photos, etc. covers, sleeves). The song is "Trash" by the Whips.

another article by Simona Marchetti on the main Italian sports newspaper (the pink La Gazzetta dello Sport)

MANCINI SI DA' ALLA MUSICA, FERGUSON AL CINEMA ahahaha

Ferguson provoca il City
"Solo chiacchiere e basta"

the mystery of the butterfly...
(see the old post "flashbax summer 09" and before)

send your answer to
marco@oasisblues.com

Those who will not win, if they want, could anyway receive a consolation prize: again, a nice Google email address (...yourname...@oasisblues.com or @miamilan.com
so you'll be original :)

it's for girls
What does the future hold? ... red at the start, then some blue...
(dedicated to the Brazilian musician Vanessa) this butterfly is called "Vanessa io" (Inachis io) or "Peacock eye". And the name comes from Greek Juno priestess, for its legendary beauty
as every historic album, also the last one of Oasis has got some mystery. It seems inspired by the legendary Sergent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by the Beatles. I wonder why the butterfly appears and disappears...
It has an atomic bomb on the cover, and then Oasis split up...
Also the previous Oasis cd covers had summat strange (see old post): New York with the Twin Towers in the background in 2000, before September 11, the pier in Weston-super-Mare then burnt by a fire, the problems of the music shop in Berwick street in London, George Best who died, etc.

Love like a bomb

some extra cds
what a great tune
To be where there's life (live Wembley)

To be where there's life (cd version with Indian instrument, sitar)

the butterfly is back
double heads
here the butterfly is like polished, lucid, different from the rest
and here that butterfly disappeared...
the butterfly is back on the sleeve album (special limited edition, super deluxe), but the one on top disappeared...
sergeant ranks as the Beatles
it's very big and heavy and the big album inside is very old-fashioned, similar style to a grandmother photo album
one of the greatest tunes on this album
Waiting for the rapture (live Wembley)
I love the cd version with the electric guitar solo, it makes me mad :)

Waiting for the rapture (alternative version)
