nostalgia of the 80s: when I'm down and feeling blue, I open my beady eyes and visit oasisblues

MILAN - Photo: the (Hungarian) Rubik's Cube, the best-selling game in history, a symbol of the '80s. I know you wanna play something else ^_^

There's a lack of news as in the summer over here, Beady Eye are on a little holiday (they're always coming around here), so here I come, here I come, here I come :) just call me the rollaaaaa... the encyclopedic use of Oasisblues is back :). Here's one of my famous compilations, there's something even Noel likes here... but it's more what he doesn't like (oh strange :). Haters say the Gallaghers and their fans listen to Oasis only, but of course it's not true: we listen to everything, that's why then we say they are the best ones.
Some time ago I wrote a post about Italian songs in the 60s, though I wasn't born yet. In the previous post I was a bit nostalgic about the 90s, with those Suede tunes. Here's a post about the Eighties, but there will be one about the 70s and 90s too. About the first decade of 2000, it seems quite shitty, with time almost everything is getting worse. Very often the 80s are considered the worst decade for music, also because for the first time it wasn't influenced by the Beatles (strange, 'cause John Lennon had just died and almost nobody was inspired by him), as also Paolo Hewitt said, and music was great again in the 90s when it was influenced by them again (thanks to Oasis and company). But I think the worst one is 2000-2009, really a few important things, also because now we know more about music (so the kids are gonna realize that, soon or later), and my favourite are probably the 70s (Led Zeppelin, Queen and company).
At first, I remember it was cool to listen to this music in the 80s, because it was in English language and it was the older brothers who owned that, so if you were following them, you could feel to be older, almost adult. Funny 'cause when you listen now, I'm not saying it's childish music but it's quite simple, light and "just for fun", not really deep, not complicated. Because they were definitely happy times, with no worries at all. Today we're all completely fucked, lol. And if you think you're not, you will be more than the others, classic Murphy's law.
The key instrument was the keyboard (sorry for the pun :), also used much by Beady Eye today.
For an Oasis fan it's necessary to know everything also about this decade, 'cause it was just before them, and as it wasn't influenced by the Beatles while Oasis were totally influenced by them, we can see there was a reaction.
As I was saying in some posts, when I was about 7 years old I've become a huge music fan, following the charts, it was quite commercial stuff so today it's funny to see what we were listening, the music getting electronic (but that started in the 70s, and also the disco music). These are songs that will always remain in our hearts, because it's the first music we listened and usually the memories as children are quite sweet. About me, they especially remind me of school times and holidays in the mountains, the first times I was in love with little girls :). The other day I wanted to dedicate the video I made about AC Milan history to a schoolmate who is not with us anymore, but these songs remind me even more of those times.
Today there are still bands sounding a bit like 80s bands, for example Glasvegas, or another band I used to like, Keane.

If you can help me: there are 2 other videos I want to add but I don't remember the titles, I'm sure they were from the 80s: in one there was something about an American flag and the Army, and the other was in the garden of a villa, they were very popular songs but I forgot the names, I'm getting old :)

Say say say, Paul McCartney with Michael Jackson (both of them also in The Girl is mine),
it's where I started to discover The Beatles (and from my parents Beatles-influenced songs)

and here's another Beatle, I was writing about yesterday: George Harrison, Got my mind set on you

Talk Talk (Mark David Hollis, fucking genius :), Such a shame.
Another one was It's my life

The Queen, It's a hard life (this one inspired Oasis' Lyla video :),
then Radio Ga Ga, Under pressure, Friends will be friends, I want it all, etc.

Spandau Ballet, I'll fly for you (another fashion band, last year in Milan)

Duran Duran (recently in Milan), Notorius (this was the Wonderwall of the 80s,
it's crazy how many times we listened to this one, that's probably why we now hate them, lol).
Another big hit was Wild boys

Europe (last year in Milan), The final countdown (another one of the most listened)
Other hit was Carrie

David Bowie, Absolute beginners (with Liam's ex wife Patsy Kensit and Italian scooter :)

Eighth Wonder (Patsy Kensit), I'm not scared
...this was my childhood shock, lol (especially her dress going down @ Italian Sanremo festival)
yes single Patsy ^_^ I still love you, lol (even though hearing your voice now, you've clearly become a man ahaha it can happen)
Other famous ones from her: Stay with me and Cross my heart

Michael Jackson, Human nature (when I was a child it was my favourite song, because it had a dreaming atmosphere)
and many more by him, absolute protagonist

Gazebo (Italian artist), I like Chopin

Fleetwood Mac, Little lies - Noel likes them :)

Phil Collins, Another day in paradise
(Noel doesn't like him at all :). Another one: In the air tonight

Kim Carnes, Bette Davis eyes
she was one of my insipirations when I used to sing (and Kelly Jones) for my rough voice-whisky effect :)

The La's, There she goes (1988) inspiring Oasis and Beady Eye.
Beady Eye's drummer Chris Sharrock played for The La's

New Order (from Manchester), True faith (Noel was talking about them)

Level 42, Lessons in love (the other day in Milan)
another one was Running in the family

Human League, Don't you want me

A-ha, Take on me

Spandau Ballet, Through the barricades

Alphaville, Big in Japan
ooh the Eastern sea's so blue... - another was Forever young

proper videos when at the end of the 80s, AC Milan was big in Japan (still now).
Another Japanese-inspired was "Duel" by Propaganda, and still the Beach Boys "Kokomo"

Ryuichi Sakamoto & David Sylvian, Forbidden colours

Ph.D., I won't let you down

OMD, Enola Gay

Nikka Costa, (Out here) on my own (images from Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet city, Verona in Italy)
born in Tokyo, she was even younger when they recorded the song (successful in the world thanks to the famous talent scout Tony Renis from Milan), I was totally in love, lol. For the video click here
When I'm down and feeling blue, I open my beady eyes and visit oasisbluuuueeess

Climie Fisher, Love changes everything

Gianni Togni, Luna
(Italian love songs)

Gianni Togni, Giulia
