Looks like an aerodynamic driver/aviator... ah no, no driving license. Looks like a boxer with a broken nose.
Cool how some things Noel says are published on every website, even cuisine websites (sometimes I even have to tell them: no please, not him also here), and continuously repeated for months... until nausea. While many other unpopular, uncomfortable things (as "I don't care about peace") are written by a few ones only...
They must protect their sincere media darling... their imaginary perfect God...
Manchester Arena. They say Noel Gallagher is many things; singer, songwriter, "godlike genius", and so on and so forth. But the one thing he is not is a front man.
The shortcomings of Noel Gallagher as a front man became apparent. He should be the focus of attention, he should be connecting with the crowd, he should get a reaction. Being polite and littering between song chat with ‘thank you’ just doesn’t cut the mustard. The only time he bossed the stage all night was when he was being heckled for not being heard by one person in the crowd.
"You can’t hear me? I’m the one with a fucking microphone."
It soon became apparent that someone was missing: Liam. Some will argue that Beady Eye are ‘Oasis-lite’ without the elder Gallagher; but the one thing that Liam Gallagher does is hold an audience in the palm of his hand. You just know that Liam wouldn’t have left the heckler alone like Noel did; you know he’d have been torn to pieces by a salvo of Liam put-downs.
Two more things became apparent as the gig went on. Firstly; the sound from the stage was echoing off the walls of the arena. As it stands at the moment the songs by Noel by himself just aren’t burnt into the consciousness of the population. They simply don’t have the same resonance that his old band’s songs have.
Secondly; the Oasis crowd were in wanting to hear – the old songs. This was confirmed during the encore which comprised fully of three Oasis tracks. The audience erupted, sang (cried?) its heart out and waved its collective arms aloft. Not one hint of an echo remained.
Noel just needs to break free from the ghost of Oasis, for him to justify the larger venues and to propel his material to the frenzied reception levels that Oasis songs still enjoy.
