Rhys Ifans to be Alan McGee in a film on his life. "Noel makes music for everybody"

LONDON - Former Oasis manager and Creation records boss Alan McGee is in talks about a movie based on his life - with Rhys Ifans playing the lead role.
And Glasgow-born McGee, who also brought us The Jesus And Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine and Primal Scream, is so keen to get the project off the ground that he gave up the chance to tour with his proteges and pals Glasvegas.
McGee is already the star of documentary film Upside Down: the Creation Records Story, which will have its Scots premiere on February 22.
He's now revealed to the Razz that he has other big screen projects in the pipeline.
McGee, 50, explained: "James from Glasvegas wanted me to come out on tour this week but I've got to go to London for a big film meeting.
"It's a really weird time as people seems to have come out of a depression and the big film guy I'm meeting is a good guy.
"He's good for a laugh and is interested in talking to me about making a feature film about Creation.
"It's a film about some lunatic who runs a label that ends up making millions of pounds.
"Actually there are two movie ideas - a druggie one and one that's more serious. Maybe we can make one that combines both."
Alan, who said he would love to get Mr Nice star Ifans to play him, was in Scotland yesterday to film a cameo role in a new music video for the Scots band Cousti.
In the video for their country rock song Sweetest Tunes, he can be seen playing the mandolin, a la John Peel in Rod Stewart's classic Maggie May.
Alan said: "It was fun - the weirdest thing was I realised I've made about 300 videos in my life and I don't think I've ever been in one playing an instrument before."
Alan, who these days spends most of his time with his family in Wales, also missed out on catching up with Liam Gallagher when he visited his Glasgow clothes shop, Pretty Green, last week.
After Liam claimed McGee was wrong to believe Oasis would re-form, he said: "Maybe I am wrong.
"From a fan point of view, I'd love to see them back."
He added: "Liam also said that Noel was making music for 50-year-olds but I don't have a problem with t hat as I am 50. "Noel is making for 21-year-olds and 70-year-olds too."

the Italian Woodstock: Monza rock festival 1999

MONZA - Well this is not about Oasis, but rock anyway. Somehow a nice memory, but not so much... anyway, it's history :). You know sometimes even the bad memories are good, because they're memories, so they are past :). I was at this festival with my (past :) friends, I hardly have old friends, in fact they're not my friends now. I believe in love but not so much in friendship, it always seems to me there's always a sort of "interest" behind. When I go to a place I always make big friends with some people, but passing the time it's all lost. As Beady Eye's Four Letter Word: nothing ever lasts forever. Probably if I met some of the old friends we would talk again, but, we don't meet :).
This festival was just a few metres beside the Formula 1 circuit. I was there because of Aerosmith, I used to like them when I was younger. Steven Tyler, Stefano Tallarico, Italian origins :). There were a lot of bands (and also: there should have been other bands, as The Cardigans), Italian good singers as Alex Britti (see his song about Milano) and bands as Litfiba (it was their last concert ever, but then reunited, they're on an European tour in March as Beady Eye), the Black Crowes, also Echo&the Bunnymen I was naming yesterday, that's why this came to my mind. It was July so it was very hot in that period, and big storms can happen... one happened, lol. The biggest one ever seen, exactly during the half of the first day while bands were playing. And while it was raining heavily, all the people were not even considering that the event could be cancelled, we only cared about music. Meanwhile there was more and more water around, even some mud as in Woodstock, but above all it was water, there were real RIVERS when the people then realized the concert was suspended :). These disasters usually happen in Venice, it’s very common there at the Heineken (Manchester City sponsor :) festival, there are always tornadoes, but only during Heineken festivals, lol. Under the storm among thousands of people getting mad and then running away, I even found a girl who was there alone, she was working with me in that period, for a sports television.
So we all had to run away inside the park (a wood) there, inside the cars still hoping the concert could continue (it was totally impossible, only mad music fans could wish that). When we were at home almost all of us got the fever, but the tv said the festival was continuing the next day. Beautiful sun, of course we went there again :), even if we had the fever (also, music fever :), and it was free for the people of the first day, we attended also Lenny Kravitz nice show, etc. and Mtv interviewed me, I took the microphone and probably said something strange as I had the fever and my voice was, let’s say, very deep.

Dzeko: Manchester people support City

MANCHESTER - Edin Dzeko wasted little time settling in at Manchester City — by having a dig at bitter rivals United.
The £27million signing was officially unveiled by City boss Roberto Mancini today.
And Dzeko, who quit German club Wolfsburg to play for Mancini, immediately endeared himself to the Eastlands faithful by claiming most United fans do not come from Manchester.
The Bosnian striker said: "I hear a lot about the fans and that most of the people from Manchester are Manchester City fans.
"I don't know too much about the rivalry but I hear the derby is something special."
Dzeko found it hard to quit the Bundesliga but insists he has joined a team capable of winning the Premier League.
The 24-year-old hitman added: "I'm very pleased. I'm here at a big club like Manchester City with big ambition.
"I saw something else in Man City. I'm an ambitious player and I think we can have a lot of success together.
"It's a project. I need to say it's a very good team with a very good coach.
"It was 3½ beautiful years with Wolfsburg and we had a lot of success, winning the league for the first time in our history.
"I was very happy there but I wanted to change, try something new and better and that's why I'm here."

ROME - Too much about babes today, let's have some religion, lol. Do you remember time ago the Vatican said it's good to listen to Oasis. (Wil)Liam and Noel are quite traditional names, Noel even meaning Christmas birth, and both the Gallaghers care a lot about their families. Two of their children have strange names, as Lennon Gallagher, and Anais Gallagher, sounds like a perfume ^_^
Celebrities are known for giving their offspring bizarre names. And where they tread, the rest of us tend to follow.
But those who despair at names such as Brooklyn, Apple and Princess Tiaamii, now have a high-profile supporter.
The Pope has made an extraordinary plea to parents to give their children traditional first names.
Benedict XVI told a Vatican baptismal ceremony that the Christian name, is an ‘indelible sign from the Holy Spirit’ and a protects family life which is ‘being threatened’.
He said baptism with a strong name was ‘the start of spiritual life which is fulfilled through the Church’.
His comments came just hours after David and Victoria Beckham announced they were expecting their fourth child, after their three sons, Brooklyn, Cruz and Romeo (Brooklyn is a boy? ^_^).
It is unclear whether they will take his views on board, although the Pope would probably be pleased with Romeo which in Latin means ‘pilgrim to Rome’.
He would undoubtedly frown upon the names of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s daughter Apple, Katie Price and Peter Andre’s daughter Princess Tiaamii, and the entire brood of singer Bob Geldof and the late Paula Yates - named Fifi Trixibelle, Peaches and Pixie.
Despite her middle name being Madonna, he probably did not mean Bluebell, her mom is Geri Halliwell.
The Pope added: ‘With the Sacrament of baptism the Church prays and entrusts to God a new child, parents and godparents agree to give the newly baptised a Christian education.
‘This is a great responsibility. That is why I encourage all the faithful to rediscover the beauty of baptism and being part of God’s great family, which is a testimony of great joy to one’s faith.’
Theologian Gianni Gennari told an Italian newspaper: ‘By insisting on Christian names the Pope is not violating the rights of parents but simply asking for seriousness when it comes to baptism.’
A Roman Catholic priest can refuse to baptise a child if the name given is not recognised.
Although the rule is rarely enforced, a couple from Genoa were recently refused permission to register their child as Venerdì, meaning ‘Friday’.
Vatican insiders said Pope Benedict’s plea was a response to the trend among Italian celebrities, and increasingly ordinary people, to give their children trendy names.
Formula One team director Flavio Briatore’s son, born in March last year, was christened Falco, meaning Falcon.
Others who caused a stir include Italian footballer Francesco Totti, who called his daughter Chanel (! as a bag! more than bizarre, it's ridiculous) and actress Monica Bellucci who called her daughter Deva, which in the New Age movement refers to ‘spiritual forces.’
In the UK, there was a spike in babies called Lennon, after Oasis star Liam Gallagher named his son with first wife Patsy Kensit, who is now 11, after the Beatles legend.
According to the Italian Statistical Office the most popular names are still the solidly traditional Francesco (Francis) for boys and Giulia (Julia) for girls.
The Pope’s comments have provoked an intense debate in the Italian media with Vatican sources stressing that the Pope was only referring to parents who had their children baptised.
In Italy in the 1980s, there was a brief trend for naming girls Sue Ellen after a character from the hugely successful American TV series Dallas.

Kasabian vs Oasis 2-2 + more internet prominently cunts

LEICESTER -  Noel Gallagher and Sergio Pizzorno drew the game between their teams, and today they drew :) (City without Dzeko and Balotelli), Noel attended at the stadium, but just half match: at 49. minute (when it was 1-2 City) he was going home, bidding farewell to his mates in his hospitality area (the second half had only just kicked off). So another match is necessary, in Manchester, on 18 January, Manchester City-Leicester City.
Meanwhile, another draw today, Milan with an incredible 4-4, but we're already "winter winner" of the league some days ago.
More music&football experts around the "beautiful world of internet", this wonderful American invention for "socializing", and "put the people closer", which I see it's mainly used to attack people and be nervous. Oasis always attacked people in the real world, while the haters are safe staying hidden behind a computer.
If you look around it's full of insults and defamation towards Oasis and Liam, proof of their success... things they would never tell in front of them. As usual, they hardly know something about them, and are clearly affected by jealousy.
But their opinions don't worth anything, as they come from people with ridiculous nicknames, often teenage wankers, on blogs and websites forgotten by the world.
If you tell them something, they answer I'm an Oasis fan because "‘oasis’ features prominently in your username" (my mail address)... wow, I told them it's better than being "prominently a cunt" judging from their usernames.
Football today: "chelsea are gonna lose naturally", "50 50 chelsea could go out", "Oh and Chelsea will lose. Like i said, a regular normal day..", "CHELSEA of course!"...

Compared with the Italian troika of tourism — Florence, Venice and Rome — Milan is often an afterthought. But with novel, eye-catching design emerging around the city, that should soon change.
For years, unsightly scaffolding obscured the Milan Cathedral; now that most of it has been dismantled, the newly scrubbed Gothic masterpiece, also known as the Duomo, is worth a fresh look. Across the piazza, the city’s collection of 20th-century art is now showcased at the Museo del Novecento, which opened in December in the restored Palazzo dell’Arengario.
Outside the historic center, former factories have been transformed into design studios, old warehouses have been repurposed as unconventional art venues, and galleries are packed with avant-garde works. Anticipating the 2012 Olympics, a slew of new hotels and restaurants.
There is never a bad time to go to London. But this year may be better than most: the 2012 Summer Olympic Games has prompted the construction of 12,000 hotel rooms, and several hotels that have been around for a while are burnishing their appeal with notable new restaurants.
Many are opening well in advance of the games. The 192-room Four Seasons London at Park Lane reopens late this month after a two-year-plus gut renovation that added a penthouse spa overlooking Hyde Park and new restaurant seating in a private garden. The new W London Leicester Square arrives in February, conforming to British tastes with a trendy take on high tea. In April the Corinthia Hotel London reinvents a vintage 1855 hotel, and in May the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel London makes its debut in a cathedral-like Victorian hotel with a restaurant by the Michelin-starred chef Marcus Wareing.
Other hotels are adding restaurants from renowned chefs. This spring, the May Fair Hotelwill become home to the chef Silvena Rowe’s Eastern Mediterranean restaurant, Quince.
Expect hotel and restaurant bookings to be tight on and around April 29, date of the royal wedding, for which London tourism officials expect a pre-Olympics wave of visitors.

Dzeko joins the blues

MANCHESTER - As already anticipated days ago, Edin Dzeko is now a Manchester City player.
He insisted City were always the club for him as he completed his £27million move to Eastlands, and will wear the number 10 shirt.
City boss Roberto Mancini targeted the Bosnia and Herzegovina striker six months ago. And the Italian finally got his man tonight as the 24-year-old signed a 4½-year deal from German Wolfsburg.
Sarajevo-born Dzeko said: "I was always attracted most to joining City. I have been linked with the club for a long time, going back to last summer, but Wolfsburg did not want to sell me until today.
"There was too much speculation in the papers but my head is always clear.
"I am pleased to be at such a good club with such big ambition. They were my first choice and only choice.
"Everybody speaks about City having lots of money - but it is not about that, it is about ambition. And I have spoken to coach Mancini and he told me 'this is the best club for you'.
"City are playing for first place in the Premier League and that is what I want.
"I am excited to play alongside players such as Carlos Tevez and Yaya Toure, whom I have only seen on the television, and to be in the same team as players I have played against such as Jerome Boateng and Vincent Kompany.
"They will help me achieve my goal to be better in the future.
"I want to show the fans why the club paid the money for me. Everyone expects goals and I want to score them but most of all I want to contribute to a successful team.
"I don't want to talk about my skill - that is for other people to judge. However, I know my quality and when I am fit I am not afraid of a challenge. Everybody says that England is the perfect league for me with my style".
Dzeko becomes Roberto Mancini's 9th signing since replacing Mark Hughes just over a year ago and his arrival is likely to trigger the departures of Emmanuel Adebayor and Roque Santa Cruz this month.

Pretty Green opening in Glasgow + interview video

GLASGOW - Liam Gallagher, wearing a black trilby hat, khaki parka and drainpipe trousers, was surrounded by photographers and fans as he visited a new clothing store in Glasgow today. The menswear label, which is heavily-influenced by 60s art, music and culture, counts footballers Joe Cole and AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini, boxer Amir Khan and Kasabian’s lead singer Tom Meighan among its fans.
The Beady Eye singer looked frustrated with the camerman as he arrived at the Pretty Green shop for the first time since it opened last month.
It is the third outlet for Gallagher’s side-project, and is his first in Scotland.
A large crowd greeted the singer outside the store, with one fan holding a portrait of Gallagher and his brother and former Oasis bandmate Noel.
In an interview earlier this week, Gallagher revealed that Pretty Green would soon offer capes and leopard print blazers.
Liam was pleased to be back in Glasgow, a city he has fond memories of, as his old band Oasis was discovered in Glasgow pub King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut. He had returned north of the border to open a new clothing store Pretty Green.
He said: “It’s good to be back in Glasgow. We got signed here, that’s where it all began for us.”
The store is the first of its kind in Scotland and like it's sister stores in London and Manchester it sells only Liam’s Pretty Green clothing range. The store which is on Ingram Street has proven popular with customers since its opening in December 2010.
When asked why he opened a store in Scotland Liam said: “Why not? I like Scotland in general, people like the same things football, music, they like a little drink or two. So why not?”
The line is designed by Liam and respected menswear designer Nick Holland. The name Pretty Green comes from a Jam song written by influential singer Paul Weller. The range itself is inspired greatly by 60’s culture and the mod movement of that era.
Liam said: “[The clothing line is] 60s, mod influenced. It’s smart but not fairy smart, it’s worn in smart. Me and Nick Holland design it, he comes round my house and we sit there and go through the wardrobe and see what’s had its time. We design in that kind of style.”
Many fans turned out to see Liam at his new store where he chatted and signed autographs for them. Liam was quick to point out his clothing line is for everyone and that he will keep going as long as people want to wear his designs.
He said: “If people don’t like it we close it and move on, if people like it we stay here. I’m not gonna ram it down people’s throats, if people like it we’ll carry on.”
Liam started a new band Beady Eye with his ex-Oasis band mates, they have been working on a new album called Different Gear, Still Speeding and have an upcoming tour. The tour starts with two nights in Glasgow at The Barrowlands.
Liam said: “The album is done, all the videos are done and we start rehearsing next week for a month. I am excited about it it’s nice to get back in the ring, that’s where I belong singing songs. The gigs are on sale, we start at The Barrowlands, we’re excited, we’re loud and it’s rocking”.
Liam doesn’t think the fans have too much to worry about with the style of music they have been playing he doesn’t think it is that different from what they created with Oasis. There are obviously some changes but Liam is really happy with what Beady Eye has become.
He said: “I don’t think it’s that different. It’s a little bit different but I wouldn’t say it’s that different. I’m still singing the way I sing, the band are still playing guitars the way they do. We’re still having it”.
It’s for the fans to decide though in Liam’s opinion, he pointed out: “It’s not for me it’s for other people to say if it’s different or not. It feels different obviously because Noel is not there but it doesn’t feel that different to me when the microphone is in front of me I’m ready to go.”
When asked if brother Noel wears his clothes he joked “probably”. He and his brother are not in touch at the moment, he said: “I’ve not spoken to him but I’m sure he’s happy in his little world. He does his thing and I do mine.”

Liam has revealed that he's a big fan of Buckfast - after trying the tonic wine when he was NINE.
"I love Glasgow, it's great. When I was nine, I tried Buckfast for the first time. I still love it now."
He made a beeline for disabled Harry Johnston, who just happened to be passing, and gave him a big hug.
Thrilled Harry said: "He cuddled me and said, 'All right, wee man?' I was flabbergasted."
Liam's notorious for his boozefuelled tantrums and rows with brother Noel but fans said he was in great spirits yesterday.
Plasterer Martin Rush, 30, of Cumbernauld, said: "Liam was on really good form."
Martin's girlfriend Kim, 28, of Glasgow, added: "He was full of smiles, not like you usually see in the papers. I got cuddles and kisses from him."
Paul Hannah, 24, from Coatbridge, and his girlfriend Cara Urban, 19, met Gallagher.
Cara said: “Paul told him that I’m having a baby this Sunday and he congratulated us and gave us a cuddle: I’m overwhelmed by it.”
Paul added: “I can’t believe it. That’s made my year – and the baby will make it even better. He’s my hero.”
The 4080 square foot shop, housed in the former GPO building has a six-month lease.
Store manager Raymond Meade said: “It’s been hectic, we didn’t expect the turnout that we got. Liam was in good spirits and on good form – he loved the shop. He said he’s looking forward to seeing us again.”

Gem told: "My son's already making his own dubstep tracks and I'm encouraging the generation gap - I tell him it sounds like two radios playing at the same time."
Liam couldn't resist a dig at old rival Damon Albarn when talking about his boy's music taste. He said: "My kids are into that Gorillaz stuff - and that is music for kids, with all those videos."

Liam to design capes and everything

LONDON - Liam Gallagher plans to include capes in his next clothing range for his label Pretty Green.
The former Oasis frontman launched his debut fashion line Pretty Green in 2009 and while it initially included "timeless, classic clobber" such as parkas, blazers, shirts and desert boots, Liam is keen to expand it this year.
He said of the label: "We're only gonna get better. We're gonna be the boys for the next 20 years or however long we want to go for. But it's not all about parkas and desert boots, I don't know where we gonna go, but we'll go there. But this year we're doing capes and everything - the lot. "
Liam also revealed he is determined for Pretty Green to become an international success while staying true to its roots.
He said in a video interview: "I've always loved clothes - music and clothes go hand-in-hand. I got the opportunity to do this, I don't remember when or how, but I'm gonna give it my all as I do everything. I want to make it really big and take it all around the world and for it to go everywhere, but at the same time I want it to remain underground and that'll be the hardest thing to do. Because you want to give people what they want but at the same time you've got to be selfish."

Beady Eye first single The Roller

LONDON - The Roller will be the first single to be taken from Beady Eye’s debut album Different Gear, Still Speeding. It will be released on 7” single on the 21st February but will also be available from 24th January on iTunes. The 7” features a brand new song on the b-side titled ‘Two of A Kind’.
Liam and Gem will be on UK radio tomorrow morning when they sit in with Radio 1's Zane Lowe to spin a selection of their favourite tunes in the 'Versus' slot. Zane will also be playing The Roller. Check it out from 8am.
The single will also be available to listen to at the band's YouTube from tomorrow morning as well as your favourite radio stations around the world.
The video for The Roller will be premiered in the UK on Channel 4 at midnight (local time) on the 10th January, and promises daredevil stunts. The band recorded the film in sub zero temperatures in Cambridgeshire in December performing in a ‘Motorcycle Wall of Death’, one of only two in the country, complete with motorcycle stunt riders. After the Channel Four premiere fans can watch the video at the band's YouTube.
This is the third track Beady Eye have made available for fans to hear after giving away a free download of Bring The Light via their website in November, and premiering a video for Four Letter Word on Boxing Day. The songs have been viewed over one million times since appearing.

Liam the new Oscar Wilde: nothing lasts forever

MILAN - Just yesterday I was saying to a girl who likes as me the Picture of Dorian Gray, and can't come to Beady Eye gig "because she's got a boyfriend" (!!) that in England time ago there was one of Irish origins, saying: ...what they call their loyalty, and their fidelity, I call either the lethargy of custom, or their lack of imagination. Faithfulness is to the emotional life what consistency is to the life of the intellect: simply a confession of failures.
A more recent English of Irish origins:
it's about time that your mind took a holiday, you're all grown up, don't you ever wanna play? Nothing ever lasts forever...
It's the same, said on other words. Both characters are famous for saying their witty comments :). In fact, some years ago a survey of "Britain's greatest wits" put them at the 1st and 10th place.
Liam has spoken about Beady Eye's eagerly anticipated debut album.
He told that it's "all brand new" and that "It's really rocking in places and really psychedelic in places" he described it as "colourful" and not "black and white".
He added: "There's a couple of great tunes on there. One called 'Morning Sun' that closes the album. It's a bit Mind Games by Lennon. A lot of strings kind of stuff. There's a tune called "Wigwam" which is probably about drinking too much and gambling. And then it veers off into something else. I'm winging it, mate. City star Mario Balotelli might be homesick - but it's not the women he's missing.
The Italian striker has been getting it on with Big Brother 10 winner Sophie Reade.
But blonde Playboy model Sophie quickly discovered Super Mario isn't exactly boyfriend material - when he pulled her best pal.
The betrayal sparked a good old rant on Twitter.
She wrote: "Would like to let everyone know @FayeEvette (Betts) is a slut and slept with the guy I was seeing! What a friend and welcome 2011." She added: "Mario Balotelli is a fucker!!"
Shame, as this was her tweet a day earlier on New Year's Eve: "Woop, off to Manchester with beautiful @FayeEvette gonna party hard 'til 2011"
That night went well then.
Sophie spent most of the New Year getting her woes off her huge chest with further outbursts at her former bestest mate and fellow glamour girl.
She tweeted: "Some ppl have no shame! And no knickers! Cringe."
Followed by: "Why would I want to make such a thing up! Not my fault I had a skank as a friend who drops there (sic) knickers at first sight of money."
If Sophie had done her research, she'd have known Mario isn't keen on relationships.
He was snapped in Manchester on Monday completing his hat-trick by treating another blonde to dinner before speeding off in his new Maserati.
Last November he dumped his Italian model girlfriend Melissa Castagnoli by text moments before she appeared on a TV show in her home country. She got revenge by reading out his message live on air.
It said: "I'm back to make you change. But never mind, you're sunk. Everything is against you tomorrow. Bye."
Not that moody Mario would have been too bothered.
He has an ego the size of one of Sophie Reade's bras and has backed his claims to be one of the world's best footballers by banging in 8 goals in 8 games for City since his £24million move from Inter Milan.
Mario misses his side's clash with Arsenal today with a swollen knee.
He must have wooden floors in his flat.

Liam: I've heard half of that fucker's solo album, it won’t get any fucking better

LONDON - Beady Eye frontman Liam Gallagher has claimed to have heard ‘over half’ of the material set for inclusion on brother Noel‘s debut solo album (photo: exclusive album preview ahaha ...Liam used to say Noel was slow, as a turtle, in publishing albums). Liam has not seen Noel or spoke to him since Oasis split in Paris in August 2009.
Speaking to Uncut as his new band prepares to release their own debut album, Liam believes he has sung on a clutch of the tracks expected to appear on Noel’s solo record, since many of them were recorded during the sessions for Oasis‘ final studio LP ‘Dig Out Your Soul‘.
“I’ve heard his fucking new record ‘cos I fucking sung on half of it,” he said. “When I was in America for ‘Dig Out Your Soul‘, and he swiped some off cos he obviously knew he wanted to do a solo album. So he can talk all the bullshit about ‘Oh, I was intimidated’ and all that. Fucking nonsense. Behave. He knows. The people know. And I know. So no – it’s not better. And it won’t get any fucking better.”
Noel Gallagher remains tight-lipped on his own future plans, though the solo album is widely tipped to be released sometime this year.
Liam: "It's all very hush-hush 'round his camp. I put up with 18 years of that fucker so I'm arsed what he's doing. I'm sure it will be all very civilised and grown-up. One of those gigs you can really stroke your chin at. With four rent-a-Scousers wearing shell-suits. This is the whole fucking myth, mate. Me and him never really spent any time with each other. He did the soundcheck. I walked onstage, had it, went backstage, had a drink. He'd go to his room... fuck knows what he'd get up to there, probably putting women's clothes on.
Man, just 'cos someone else wasn't having a good time in Oasis... there was good times to be had. I had a fucking great time. But the bigger you get the harder it is to move and groove. People expect this or that so it's hard to nip about. Now we're like a little Mini. We can dart about a bit more. Before, we were just a big fucking fat Bentley - it might feel nice but it's fucking hard work to drive. The reason we're doing this is 'cos we wanna do it, not 'cos we have to. Liam: McGee and a couple of fucking internet cunts are wrong: no fucking Oasis reunion. It's like wanting your girlfriend back after she's fucked you off

LONDON - Liam Gallagher has told Oasis fans to “get over” the possibility of the band reuniting.
The singer has gone on to form new band Beady Eye, whose debut album 'Different Gear, Still Speeding' hits shelves next month.
But at the end of last year former Creation Records boss Alan McGee said he believed the group would reunite in the future.
In an interview with Mojo, Gallagher said: "McGee is wrong isn't he? And a couple of little cunts moaning on the fucking internet going, 'Oh it isn't fucking Oasis,' aren't going to bother me.
“They're going to make themselves fucking sick if they don't get over it.”
Gallagher added: "It's like wanting your girlfriend back after she's fucked you off. You'll end up getting yourself ill.
“They're not going to get me knocking on someone's door saying, 'Come on let's get back together'. It's done, mate. We had a great time. Beady Eye is where we are now... Get rid of all the Oasis songs and just bathe ourselves in Beady Eye."
But Gallagher went on to add that he may perform Oasis songs if Beady Eye's material was poorly received, although he told the magazine that he wouldn't perform any songs written by his brother, Noel.
"The way we see it is that we're Beady Eye and I think it's time for people to get acquainted with us.
"But somewhere down the line if it goes pear-shaped and we have to play Oasis, I definitely won't be playing Noel's songs, I'll be playing my own."

Pretty Green team preparing clothes for Liam's film

Liam Gallagher's Pretty Green is no ordinary celebrity brand.
Forget cheap fabrics and logo T-shirts, Pretty Green is making a name for itself as a credible menswear brand where the bottom line is always quality.
Since its launch in June 2009 the brand has gone from strength to strength, with sales steadily increasing despite the recession.
We decided to find out what's so special about Pretty Green, so we caught up with two of the brand's key people: Nick Holland, design director, and Dean West, global sales manager.

Read our Q&A with Nick and Dean for an inside view on the success story that is Pretty Green. Celebrity designers in the making, take note:

How would you sum up the Pretty Green brand?
DEAN: It's Liam Gallagher's contemporary British heritage brand which takes its influences directly from streetwear culture from the past.

How well do think it reflects Liam's personal style?
DEAN: It's very much his signature. It's got his DNA written all over it you can see him wearing absolutely every piece. The black label is much more at the pointy end of fashion and that reflects Liam at his most fashionable, and green label is very much him looking casual. There isn't a piece in the collection that he wouldn't wear himself.
NICK: What is great about Pretty Green is that it regularly references Liam’s iconic style without being controlled by it. The 1960s mod scene is a huge influence for the Green Label. The Black Label takes this look and translates it into a highly tailored product which is contemporary with a foot in the past but also in the present day. The Pretty Green customer likes to dress sharp, stylish and is not influenced by fashion trends, preferring classic, strong styles and high quality fabrics.

How involved is Liam in the design process?
NICK: Liam is involved in every stage of the process when it comes to the designing both the Green and Black Label Collections. It's a simple yes or no. It's in or it's out, if it's right it's in, if it's not it's out. You know exactly where you stand - Liam knows exactly what he wants and is very particular about what is put in the final collections - down to the minutest detail… Liam has a great eye for what will work and what will not.

What is Liam like to work with?
NICK: Liam is a pleasure to work with. He is punctual, funny and extremely passionate about Pretty Green, and is very decisive in what he wants from the end product, which helps greatly and saves time and money. We are starting to look into clothes for the film he is doing, The Longest Cocktail Party, which Pretty Green are providing the styling for. Liam knows what's right and wrong and the team of researchers we have onboard should make it a great project for Pretty Green to be involved with.

What's the secret of Pretty Green's success?
NICK: We aren't endorsed by a celebrity, Liam owns the company as the major shareholder so there is a difference, I believe. I also strongly believe it's down to a fantastic team involved with Pretty Green who are without doubt experts in their fields and highly driven to succeed which is critical to succeed.
DEAN: We've captured the hearts and minds of the nation and the boys in this country. Everywhere that sells it is flying it out. People are asking for it all the time. I think it just encapsulated the whole of that look that the British lads like to wear.

What's next for the brand?
NICK: This year we opened pop-up stores in Carnaby Street, Manchester and Glasgow and I know we are looking to expand into other cities in 2011. My department is Design, there is a whole team who strategise about where we are going next, but I do anticipate 2011/2012 being exciting times in Pretty Green.
DEAN: We've got a footwear collection coming out early 2011, we've got shades coming out and we've got more accessories coming.

So is there a chance Pretty Green will branch into womenswear? Nick told us: "We may release a capsule collection next year but currently focused on menswear."

Mod style for Beady Eye

Jealous people and haters said Beady Eye are a band useful just to promote Liam's clothes. Nice idea...here we go, lol !

Tips to dress like a Mod.
In the sixties, mod boys dressed in suits, neat narrow trousers, and pointed shoes. Mod girls displayed a boyish image, wearing their hair short (fringe hairstyle as Oasis) to fit a unisex type of culture. So Pretty Green, being clothes for boys only, could be used by girls too :)
Be inspired by British youth fashion of the 1960s and interpret the look for today to dress like a Mod. Indulge in color, short skirts and dresses in wild patterns. Look for clothing that hit the United States during the British cultural invasion and has never completely gone home. Be sexy, young and futuristic (as Milan futurism :) as defined by Mod fashions.
Classic Mod’s include singer Ian Brown and Oasis group member Liam Gallagher who are both from Manchester and wear the Mod look perfectly.
Buy mod-related clothing items such as slim cut suits, a green vintage US Army fishtail parka. These can be bought on Pretty Green site of course, or also on eBay (my new profile is called "eBeadyEye" :) and even your local vintage or second hand store. Or your original military parka if you were a soldier as me :). Second hand always looks better than bought brand new. It has a story to tell and the worn in look is ideal for creating that Mod style.
But a parka for the concerts, being in March, could be too warm in Italy and Spain. So you could wear something lighter by Pretty Green.
Buy a skintight pair of drainpipe pants for a unisex Mod look. Drainpipe pants are tight from the waist to the ankle with a hipster or low-rise waist. Purchase “skinny jeans” from mainstream retailers to copy this Mod fashion.
Wear miniskirts, go-go boots and headbands. Choose fashion that screams youth and sex appeal-the foundations of the 1960s British fashion scene. Purchase go-go boots in a variety of colors from online and major fashion retailers.
Look for short, shift or A-line dresses with bold, geometric Mod patterns. Wear Winklepicker shoes for a high fashion touch. Find women’s Winklepicker shoes at select Mod retailers.
Finish your Mod look with scarves or jewelry inspired by modern art. Stay warm with a brightly colored pea coat or stay dry with a glossy rain trench coat. Another Mod accessory is tights and half boots. Remember your sun glasses (RayBan from Milan as Liam's), which need to be large, round and plastic.
Apply heavy eyeliner and false eyelashes for a fashionable Mod look. Use white eye shadow or lipstick. Adapt the make-up trends of the early 1960s for today.
You can also buy a Milano Lambretta or Vespa motor scooter. Lambretta is the iconic Italian brand of the Mod culture. The nationalist red-blue-white logo is recognizable all over the world.
Listen to mod-related music such as modern jazz, R&B, soul, 1960s mod bands like The Who and The Small Faces, or mod revival bands like The Jam and Secret Affair.

Message to love: Beady Eye @ Isle of Wight festival: kids runnin' around naked, fuckin' in the bushes

As you know, this year Beady Eye are also performing at the Isle of Wight festival on a Sunday (with Kasabian, The Script, etc. and during the weekend also Foo Fighters, Pulp, Iggy and the Stooges, Kings of Leon, Boy George ah! etc.)
The introduction of Oasis concerts (from 2000->2009 the end) was the song Fuckin' in the bushes, which contained samples from the film "Message to love" about the 1970 festival, the biggest ever live music event seen in the UK. The "kids are running around naked, fucking in the bushes", click here.
The film, by Murray Lerner, unsparingly, often comically depicts the myriad problems associated with the gigantic festival, but the 600,000 people enjoyed a magical experience, and remained largely unaware of conflicts.
Several problem occurred over the price of tickets (which were £3 for a weekend ticket, quite different from today...at least £150). Jimi Hendrix played his last-ever live appearance in England (opening with a distorted version of England anthem 'God Save The Queen’), his last major performance – within three weeks he is dead. The film derives its title from a song that Jimi Hendrix performed.
Due to financial difficulties, Message to Love wasn't released until 1997, 27 years after the event.
In recent years, Lerner's copious 16mm concert footage has been repurposed to create a wealth of complete-performance DVD releases by Hendrix ("Blue Wild Angel"), Miles Davis ("Miles Electric - A Different Kind of Blue"), The Who (Live at the Isle of Wight Festival 1970), Jethro Tull (Nothing Is Easy: Live at the Isle of Wight 1970), Emerson, Lake & Palmer (The Birth Of A Band: Isle of Wight 1970), The Moody Blues (Threshold of a Dream: Live at the Isle of Wight Festival 1970), and Leonard Cohen (Leonard Cohen Live at The Isle of Wight 1970).

how a girl should dress for a Beady Eye gig: schoolgirl look :)

MILAN - Hope you had fun celebrating the new year. In Italy 80% of the people stay at home celebrating with the family, that's very Italian :). And also very Liam and very Noel :)
Beady Eye music is a little bit more about dancing than we were used to with Oasis gigs, where we just jump and 'fight' (well, sometimes real fights).
Beady Eye music sounds happier than Oasis', where Noel often put a personal suffering part, even in the happy songs, as other great musicians did (e.g. Led Zeppelin, Beatles, etc.).
This is how a girl should be dressed: skirt, dance shoes and long socks :) ...and to this outfit I would add a tie.
In March when Beady Eye perform their gigs it could be still a bit cold in England, but in Milan usually it's already quite warm, so skirts are allowed :)
Hey Liam, start to think about the Pretty Green womenswear :), before the kidswear.

Noel saw the quote on the side of a £2 coin while in a pub and liked it so much he thought it would be a suitable name for the new album. He then wrote the name on the side of a cigarette packet while drunk. When he awoke in the morning, he realised he had written "Standing on the Shoulder of Giants", not "shoulders"

Maybe knowing him Lennon was an idiot, I wouldn't got on well with him and would have hated him. People speak too much of his life, pacifism, and so on, I'm interested only in his songs.

For going around we were still using a tour bus, and as it was our first time there, we had a big surprise when a bus full of British people overtook us, all of them smiling and waving their hands but suddenly they turned and showed us their arses ahahaha

I was at 3 Oasis gigs in 1 month, even climbing the Italian Alps, highest European mountains, and arriving first in Switzerland, my last Oasis gig, seen it on the front row in front of Noel winking an eye at me ;) (and Glasvegas did the same) playing as in room for me and two Swiss birds lol, the "veline" :))

At a 1997 gig after the first chord of 'Be here now' I was literally flying, gone fuckin' mad fer it, continuously shouting and jumping embraced with all the people. Best fun of my life.
