to all the people who wanted "changes"... Capello changed, England lost

LONDON - England lost the friendly match. The new breed are no better than the old. We may not win anything with the likes of John Terry, Frank Lampard and the others... but we certainly don't have the strength in depth to even think about ditching any of them.
With the exception of a late cameo from Man City's Adam Johnson and striker Andy Carroll, there was no evidence to believe the Three Lions have enough fresh blood to boost the challenge for honours on the European and World stage over the next few years.
Sunderland 20 year-old Jordan Henderson was lost in central midfield on his debut while Arsenal 21-year-old defender Kieran Gibbs also struggled, Arsenal 21-year-old Theo Walcott never got into the game.
Capello praised Carroll's efforts. The striker managed over 70 minutes despite Newcastle's concerns that he was not fit enough to play.
He was a menace in the air, showed good touches on the floor and held the ball up well. When he came off he was applauded by the crowd.
Birmingham City goalkeeper Ben Foster - in for the injured Man City Joe Hart - at 9th minute nearly let the ball through before grabbing it at the second attempt... Robert Green style :-)
Capello rang the changes for the second half, subbing the ineffective Walcott and bringing on Man City Adam Johnson while Man City Micah Richards replaced Ferdinand and Ashley Young took over from Man City Barry, injured.
Gerrard got injured and Liverpool head of fitness, "proud Aussie" cunt Darren Burgess immediately blamed Capello for reneging on a deal to take off Gerrard much earlier. Writing on his Twitter page, Burgess attacked and the coward later removed his tweet from the website. Capello said: "We spoke with Steve and said he would play one hour but after Barry's injury we had some problems. That was the reason he stayed on the pitch. If it's possible, the players will play the time we agreed with the club. They can't decide how long a player plays with the national team. If it's possible, he'd have played an hour. I understand why they're upset and I'm also upset. "The problem is that, when you play this game on Wednesday after a lot of Premier League, Europa League or Champions League games, it's possible there might be an injury for a player. But Barry was really injured so we needed someone senior on the pitch because it was a really young team."
