Noel refuses X Factor but not the music hall of fame

MANCHESTER - Smiths, Oasis, New Order and Happy Mondays are expected to feature.
Noel Gallagher and New Order's Peter Hook are among the musicians giving their support to a new hall of fame-style venue celebrating Manchester's musical history.
The hall is being set up by London-based firm 3DTwin. It will feature memorabilia from Manchester's music scene and will honour the city's most famous artists, reports the Manchester Evening News.
The Smiths, The Bee Gees, Oasis, New Order, Happy Mondays, The Stone Roses and Take That are all expected to feature.
Speaking in support of it, Gallagher said: "Manchester has always punched above its weight musically and it's high time this was celebrated in a way that will act as an inspiration to the next generation of artists."
3DTwin founder Richard Abbot added that the building, which he hopes will be around the size of a football pitch, will include a live venue, restaurant, screenings room and mega-store. The company is currently vetting suitable venues in the city.

Noel Gallagher is thought to have turned down more than £1million to replace Simon Cowell on X Factor.
Music mogul Simon told the former Oasis guitarist to "name his price" to fill his judging slot on the hit ITV talent show.
But Noel, 43, said he did not need the cash and wanted to focus on his music career instead – because he had "a duty" to stop brother Liam's band Beady Eye "stinking up the bottom of the charts" [this sounds as a tabloid bullshit... though in a recent meeting in the street Noel just said Liam is "an idiot"].
A source revealed multi-millionaire Si, 51, offered a "head-spinning amount of cash", adding: "Noel could name his price.
"Simon promised global fame and a crack at the US panel in future years. He was setting it up for him to make the show his own and fill his boots."
But Simon also wanted Noel to put his music career on the backburner to focus full time on X Factor. And with his first solo material on the horizon, Noel refused.
The future of judges Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh is still undecided, although both are expected to return.
