Orlando Bloom based rocker character on Oasis

LONDON - English actor Orlando Bloom has said that he found inspiration for his role in new film Sympathy For Delicious in rock wildmen Liam and Noel Gallagher and Ian Brown.
The "Pirates of the Caribbean" star plays band frontman The Stain in Mark Ruffalo's directorial debut, and explained that he looked to the attitude of The Stone Roses frontman and Oasis pair when working on his character as cocky rocker.
He told Wenn they provided him with plenty of material to work with as he developed the role.

Orlando, which rock gods did you scrutinize and look at, in putting together this character?

"I was thinking of some of the great musicians in England who came from the North. There’s The Beatles and The Stones and stuff, but for me, my generation had Ian Brown from The Stone Roses and the Gallagher brothers from Oasis. They had that attitude of, “We are the best fucking band in the world! We don’t give a shit what anyone says, or whatever anyone else is doing. We are the band.” It was that front for that “I’m going to have it” energy that was something that I really thought would be great for this character. There were some particularly hard lines of dialogue to put across, so that really helped me. Also, there’s the band called The Brian Jonestown Massacre that was the band that Mark [Ruffalo] and Chris [Thornton] were thinking of, and the lead singer Anton [Newcombe]. He was somebody who I looked at a bit, but really I found myself falling into that North of England attitude, which is why the dialect is a broad Northern accent."

Bloom admits he had no personal run-ins with rockers to draw from, but he'd love to experience that lifestyle in another lifetime.
He adds, "I never had a brush with a rock star but I'd like to come back as a rock star."
The actor debuted his movie band with a free concert in Los Angeles in February 2009, when he recorded a gig scene for the film with co-star and punk rocker Juliette Lewis.
Juliette talked about her desire to get back out on the road again with her own band, The Licks.
