Manchester City to win the oldest football competition, thanks to Mancini

LONDON - Another photo of Liam going to the stadium last Saturday at the semifinal, with Scully the common friend with Noel... It will be all repeated on 14 May, T-day :), triumph day with both Liam and Noel there.
Though an old version of football was played in Italy before England gave modern rules, the FA Cup is the oldest (1872) in football among all the Cups and championships still played, so it's a big honour to win it, also for the importance given to it, and I remember it was usually the Queen (or someone from the royal family) to give the trophy at the end.
Manchester City won 4 cups of these, the last one in 1969 vs Kasabian's team :), Leicester City, playing with legendary City heroes as Colin Bell, Summerbee (recent video with Liam), Neil Young who died recently, etc. and for Leicester there was already a young goalkeeper called Peter Shilton, you remember him in the '80s.
But the last trophy won by City it was 35 years ago in 1976 the League Cup, vs Newcastle (as in Oasis' Masterplan video, the band is going to the stadium to see City-Newcastle).
The last final played by City was in 1981 (FA Cup), lost vs Glenn Hoddle's Tottenham, but a replay was necessary after a draw.
So now Roberto Mancini is already in history, 'cause it's exactly 30 years that City is not playing a final.
Some jealous articles from tabloids have no sense, saying "the goal saved Mancini"...the team played a great match.
All these finals were played at Wembley, the old version of it :)
Of course United fans are saying Stoke will win... oh so that could mean Stoke is even stronger than United... just admit you lost and City deserved to win, you bitter losers.

For the Italian Cup semifinals, tonight Roma-Inter Milan (0-1) and tomorrow AC Milan-Palermo, but they're return games, home+away matches. In the recent years only the final has become a single game, played in Rome, but it's not so regular as in England where Wembley is not the home pitch for anyone, while in Rome they play at Roma & Lazio stadium... Last year Mourinho winning with Inter got angry 'cause they even put the Roma hymn before the game.
