Charlatans charity gig with Liam Gallagher

LONDON - Liam Gallagher will play live at a one-off charity concert being organised by The Charlatans in memory of former drummer Jon Brookes.
The Beady Eye frontman will play alongside The Charlatans at London’s Royal Albert Hall in aid of The Brain Tumour Charity on October 18. The line-up addition was confirmed by Liam over the weekend via his official twitter account and comes following the death of Brookes in August. Tickets for the gig are on sale here now. Brookes passed away peacefully in hospital on the morning of August 13, with his family at his bedside.
Brookes had been receiving treatment for a brain tumour since suffering a seizure on tour in Philadelphia in 2010. Though he continued to perform with The Charlatans – he was back on stage a month after his US collapse – he underwent several operations and received radiotherapy and chemotherapy. He suffered a relapse in September 2012 and was operated on as recently as July this year.
Burgess paid tribute to Brookes in a blog he wrote in which he says: "Last week we lost a brother, a friend, a band member and a huge part of all our lives."
The charity show will be one of Liam's first appearances since Beady Eye guitarist Gem Archer injured himself earlier this year. The guitarist was hospitalised on August 1 with severe head trauma, forcing the band to cancel all scheduled live performances for August, including appearances at V Festival. It has since been reported that Archer fractured his skull after falling down a flight of stairs at home, but Beady Eye have confirmed that Archer is expected to make a full recovery.

The Charlatans announced on their website that members of New Order and the Vaccines would join Liam in remembering their close friend. The Chemical Brothers are scheduled to dj. The band say that more musicians will be added to the roster (Manic Street Preachers).

also Bonehead from Oasis will be taking part, in Gem's place with Beady Eye, and Andy Bell.

Freddie Cowan (of The Vaccines) enlists Mumford & Sons banjo player Winston Marshall and Pretenders guitarist James Walbourne.

Liam is also directly answering to fans on Twitter, that would never happen with Noel Gallagher.
