LOS ANGELES - (Photo: Noel). Liam Gallagher dedicated a song to 'Scientologist weirdos' at Beady Eye’s show at The Wiltern in Los Angeles (there was also Mani from the Stone Roses).
Playing in the city with the largest concentration of Scientologists anywhere in the world, he made the dig before 'Bring The Light'.
Liam asked the crowd: "Do we have any Scientologists in the house tonight?" Following cheers, the former Oasis frontman said: "Some? Well this for them weirdos."
In a green parka jacket and paisley scarf, Liam dedicated a number of other songs throughout the evening, saying 'Man of Misery' was for the fan "wearing Pretty Green down the front", referring to his own clothing line. He also said the band's final song, their cover of World of Twist’s 1991 single 'Sons of the Stage' was "for the Manchester posse".
While playing their last track, Liam addressed a heckler in the audience, saying "it’s not a good look telling someone to fuck off when they look like Mr Bean," before going down into the photo pit and shaking hands with fans.
(this made me laugh 'cause I remember some photos of Noel when he was younger, and sometimes still today, where he looks just like Mister Bean :)
Liam recently confirmed to LA Weekely that Beady Eye will definitely be playing Oasis songs. The move follows his brother Noel's decision to play tracks by their former band on his solo tour.
