best band in the world for Liam

MONZA - 22 days to the "deep blue sky".
Some more Oasis' Creation Records history.
Last year our "old fashioned" song for Monza was "Another day in paradise", this time it's this one :), "Going places" by Teenage Fanclub, for those who don't know them, an alternative rock/power pop band from Bellshill, Scotland.
Their album Bandwagonesque won Spin magazine's 1991 end-of-year poll for best album, beating Nirvana's Nevermind, their Creation stablemates My Bloody Valentine's album Loveless, and R.E.M.'s Out of Time.
The album Grand Prix was both a critical and commercial success in the UK, becoming their first top-10 album. Released at the height of Britpop it almost certainly benefited from being released on the Creation records label. Around this time Liam Gallagher of labelmates Oasis called the band "the second best band in the world" — second only to Oasis.
"Songs from Northern Britain" followed and became their highest charting release in the UK
They were regularly name-checked by Kurt Cobain in interviews and described by him as "the best band in the world".

Bound in motion
Found my headwind was blowing fine
I've requested the stars to shine
For words that no longer rhyme

Drank the ocean
Moved my feet to a different sound
Tried to find what was left unfound
It's funny how it lets you down

Just kick my feet off the ground, I'll embrace the sky
I've got no beat in time, got no place in line

Got the notion
That this rain's never gonna last
'Cause the scene always moves too fast
I've read all about the past

Just kick my feet off the ground, I'll embrace the sky
I've got no beat in time, got no place in line
