Yesterday I've seen an Oasis website talking shit about an Oasis fake dvd because it was a false product without quality, so it was good to talk shit.
Today in a shop I've bought a new book (another one, again and again) about Oasis, and it's not an official one. It seems good and big (almost 400 pages, and not so cheap, almost 20 euros, no photos).
But... I'm reading it and there are already some "but"s.
It was published in Rome (...) and written by one (didn't understand if he's a boy or girl) who was born in 1986. So, in 1994 he/she was 8 years old... He was learning to write (a book) and I was fucking listening to Oasis to cover the noises, lol. In fact, he says he started to follow them in 1997 with the devastating (for him) "D'you know what I mean". I don't know how much an 11 years old kid can understand, anyway I think it's not so good that people who didn't live things, they even publish BOOKS about them. You know, I can speak well about a pizza looking at it, it looks nice and so many people speak good about it, well ok there must be some haters even in the kitchen.
And the author was born in Turin, probably the most boring city in Italy, according to what people say, and where there are no Oasis fans, according to what people say. In fact, Oasis have never been there. And it's so strange (but to me: meaningful), 'cause they played in many big cities, and Turin is one of the biggest cities with concerts too. I could understand if Turin was in South Italy (Oasis never played there), less fans, less organized, but Turin? And their whole region and the region under them.
Noel was remembering about himself talking about Newcastle people ahaha well more or less it's similar.
I start to read it and immediately the first typical mistake: "Bring the light" is NOT the first single by Beady Eye, but it's the Roller (out on 21 February), so the author can't have written the book in the future.
Then I'm having an idea about it, and it's that the author has got a wrong idea about Oasis. Of course he doesn't hate them, he loves them (and otherwise he wouldn't have written a book). But he put a political view around them, which is totally unreal. Oasis were one of the few bands outside politics, probably the biggest band against the "political effort" in music. In fact they never attended political concerts, Live 8 and similar ones, and they always talked shit about politicians, and musicians doing politics, Bono, Bob Geldof, etc. and Noel has always been especially against the Greens ahaha and not interested in any pacifist march and not in John Lennon's pacifist life, etc. Oasis is about music. It's about having fun.
In fact, as you can see sometimes I do write about politics, but one time against communism, one time against nazism and similar bullshit.
All the book is about the lyrics of all their songs, where the author tries to find deep meanings. Nice effort, but as both Noel, and Liam recently, said, their lyrics don't mean anything: they probably said so to provoke reactions, but somehow it's done on purpose, so everyone can give his own meanings. It's good, and not bad, that some songs don't have a precise meaning.
Don't buy it, at least until I haven't finished it... let Milan people speak about Oasis.
