Liam Gallagher Knebworth review : definitely lazy. Bigness is not greatness

LONDON - better “Noel playing to 300 people” (as liar Liam says...), the hardcore of Oasis, than betraying Oasis at KNOBbworth for Liam’s psychiatric problems, as his fankids.
They even say he's better than Oasis... it proves (apart from their music knowledge being shit) they're no Oasis fans... no need, we already knew about that.

Liam even has to PAY for Oasis songs. He wouldn't play Knebworth without the song he's paying.

Now they sell even Knebworth fake grass... how appropriate about a LiaR telling lies... now we sell the grass from our garden and say it’s from Knebworth and his blinded fankids psycho losers will believe it...

The hypocrite had said never wear Adidas when adult because uncool... even a parka.

The Times review about the betrayal of Oasis, singing like a frog. "The truth can be so hard to swallow"... we were right.

Dedicating a song to Noel "that'll do his head in!" (in fact Noel was playing festivals...as if he cared about Liam trolling), after forgetting Noel's birthday... class...

"Never mind the Platinum Jubilee, this weekend’s most royally overblown anniversary celebration took place at Knebworth Park, with Liam Gallagher".
"Billed as a nostalgic re-run of the mega-shows that Oasis headlined here in 1996, the concerts were a mixed affair. Gallagher swaggered on stage like a king, but played an uneven show that was low on crown jewels. Too much of it, like his nasal sneer, fell flat."

"Like Gallagher’s set list, the Knebworth audience certainly resembled a massed tribute act to their younger selves: an army of overwhelmingly white, middle-aged men squeezed into the shorts and Union Jack beanie hats of their Nineties youth, giving each other drunken bear hugs and lining up against the perimeter fence to urinate in joyous union. Suddenly that tenuous link between Britpop and Brexit felt a little more persuasive."

"Gallagher’s music selection struck a pretty sensible balance between solo material and vintage Oasis numbers, wisely beginning and ending with the latter. Noel Gallagher’s songwriting had its limitations, but the enduring power of hits such as Stand By Me and Live Forever to sweep vast crowds up into a sing-along remains impressive. Crafting genuinely populist anthems is a rare skill."

"Tracks from Gallagher’s newly released album, C’Mon You Know, were mostly prosaic and forgettable. As ever, the singer’s blind adherence to a staid retro formula was a major weakness. For an avowed fan of revolutionary artists such as the Beatles, David Bowie and John Lydon, Gallagher’s obstinate refusal to explore areas beyond the most monochrome lad-rock cliches is baffling. Definitely lazy."

"Liam is notorious for his hot temper: “like a man with a fork in a world of soup”, as brother Noel once memorably described him. That anger must surely be one reason why a multi-millionaire on the cusp of 50 keeps scraping away at the bottom of this long-dry barrel, despite having no apparent interest in musical evolution, despite painful arthritis that will soon require a double hip replacement. It sometimes feels like Gallagher is essentially still in the business to troll his older brother. But there was too little of that spiteful fire in this plodding, pedestrian performance."

"Ending with a champagne supernova of fireworks to accompany the song of the same name, with a guest appearance from John Squire, the Stone Roses guitarist, Gallagher’s show was undeniably impressive in its blockbuster scale. But as Oasis emphatically proved, bigness is not the same as greatness. Heavy on regal swagger but light on actual majesty, Knebworth 2.0 was a nostalgic jubilee party for a faded prince of rock, not a future king. What’s the story? Mourning former glory."

** 2 stars out of 5
(just like the value of his albums... but his fankids have a little music knowledge... so appropriate for Liam)
