Mancini: Rooney got our captain sent off. We'll win the title now

MANCHESTER - Roberto Mancini last night accused Wayne Rooney of deliberately getting Vincent Kompany sent off.
Manchester City's skipper was red-carded after just 11 minutes of a thrilling derby for a two-footed lunge on Nani, although he clearly won the ball, without even touching Nani, who didn't even say anything.
Rooney ran to referee Chris Foy to complain. Mancini said: "It was not a red card. Rooney told him his decision. This type of tackle happened with Rio Ferdinand and other United defenders many times.
"The red card for Vinnie? No, it's impossible. But I don't want to talk about the referee because I want to stay on the bench for the next game."
City last night appealed against Kompany's dismissal which will carry a 4-game ban for their skipper because he has already been sent off this season. He would miss the league leaders' Premier League games with Wigan and Tottenham and the two Carling Cup games with Liverpool.
City striker Sergio Aguero said: "I seldom try to find excuses or comment on the referees. But the unfair expulsion of Vincent conditioned the whole game."
Mancini was also fuming that his side were not awarded a penalty late on for a clear handball by Phil Jones, and the ref gave a corner kick (confirming that Jones touched the ball).
City's boss said: "Yes, it was a penalty."
He was full of praise for the way his team fought back after going down to 10 men after 12 minutes.
"We played a good game. I'm happy with our performance and proud of my players.
"We didn't concede any chances to United in the second half and that is not easy when we've got ten players against United."
Mancini has warned United: you might have won this battle but we will win the war.
Now he believes the same belief and strength of character the team showed will carry them to a Premier League title triumph.
Alex Ferguson was furious with his team as they allowed a dominant position to slip away in the second half.
Now it will be Liverpool playing at home vs United in the FA Cup, to do justice for City.

10 January:
so... it wasn't even a foul and our captain got a 4 match-ban.
It was not even from behind, as other tackles that did not even get a yellow card...
I'd like to see all the people saying it was a red car, what will they think in case of a similar clean tackle by some English player sent off during Euro 2012 or World Cup 2014... there would be a revolution against Blatter
