'Why Always Me?' was the slogan which adorned Mario Balotelli's shirt recently, but his Christmas antics should surely explain the reason why the Manchester City striker makes so many headlines.
Balotelli enthralled drinkers at a local pub in Manchester where he put £1,000 behind the bar as a Christmas treat for the patrons.
City's Italian striker then headed over to church to attend Midnight Mass before handing over £200 into the collecting tray.
Those gathered at the Tudor pub in Peel Hall were astonished when the £24million striker arrived for some pre-Christmas drinks.
A source told The Sun: 'Nobody could believe it when he walked in. The last thing anyone expected was a big celebrity like him turning up for the service but he was very polite and charming and didn't draw attention to himself.'
'He was very down to earth. Everyone wanted to talk to him and he took it in his stride.
'It's not a smart pub, so it was a big surprise when he walked in.'
Balotelli then headed over to St John's church in Chorlton, where manager Roberto Mancini was among the attendees a year earlier.
Many positive comments from England, it's already some time the people now love him. As I had predicted when he was almost leaving ("the people will miss him").
You see guys this is what is missing in this country ...it's called ' CHARACTER ' & unfortunately there are very few around any more.
(Noel Gallagher would say: everybody hates the English, lol)

I must admit I'm starting to like him...
Not -so Mad Mario eh? He is a genuine guy, who just happens to be a millionaire - and a superb football player too.
Mario is what the Premier League has been missing for years. A genuine personality with a good heart who just goes out and spends his money as he wants. I know for a fact he contributes large sums of money to various causes but unlike some in the PL doesn't shout about it.
Good on you mate, the world could do with a load more just like you.
"It's not a smart pub, so it was a big surprise when he walked in." Understatement of the year - that looks like the shittest pub in the land. Well done Mario, this is the man who after being stopped by Police and questioned as to why he had 5k in his pocket replied "because I am rich". Nice.
This guy is a star, forget the media, this guy relates to people and enjoys it....
He may be quirky, but he's growing on me.
Top lad Mario keep up the good work son.
Yeah, we will surely hear about him again...
