the Stone Roses fundamental for Beady Eye and Beckham

LONDON - Oasis big fan, former AC Milan midfielder and former England captain David Beckham (attending Oasis last gig in Milan) played a key role in making The Stone Roses reunion happen, according to tabloid reports.
According to The Sun, the footballer is a huge fan of The Stone Roses and apparently repeatedly attempted to persuade bassist Mani and frontman Ian Brown to make a reunion happen.
An anonymous source told the paper: "David has always been a huge Stone Roses fan. You've got to remember he was a young lad in Manchester when The Roses were a big deal. It was impossible to live there without being into the band. Ian and Mani are Reds through and through so they all knew each other a bit back in the day."
It continued: "David heard there was a chance the ice was thawing between Ian and guitarist John Squire and he got involved. He told Mani [in Los Angeles] in no uncertain terms he simply had to get the band back together. He said he would be willing to ring all the boys and beg them to crack on."
It continued further: "And when he saw Ian at Old Trafford a month later, he really laid it on thick and said that he would be willing to do anything to make it happen. David was one of the first people to know it was going ahead when the boys finally got together for rehearsals again."
The Manchester band reunited last month and announced that they will be playing homecoming gigs at Heaton Park on June 29, 30 and July 1 2012, with festival dates and an arena tour strongly rumoured to follow.
Ex Manchester City bad boy Joey Barton should get on the blower to Becks and see if he can help with getting The Smiths back together. The Queens Park Rangers ace has been wining and dining Johnny Marr and Morrissey in recent months.
If Becks could make that reunion happen too, a Knighthood would be all but confirmed.

Anyone who has been fortunate enough to catch the band play live over the past year may recognise it. Titled 'B.E.', it is the nine track mix played before Beady Eye come onstage. If you have been to one of the gigs, you'll almost certainly remember the rapturous reception 'I Am The Resurrection' receives.

Andy: 'We made a mixtape of music to get us ready to go onstage and we play it in the venue every night, after the support band have come off, so that band and audience are all on the same page by the time we come on stage. It starts at the rock and roll era with Link Wray and loosely follows the thread of time and some of our influences. The tape ends with the The Stone Roses 'I Am The Resurrection', which brings us up to date with the time when most of us in the band started making music. We've used this mix at every gig we've ever done, and it immediately became a part of the proceedings. If we are sitting backstage and hear the crowd are in good voice we know it's going to be a good night.'
