Oasisblues supports the Conservative Party for the General Election on 6 May

YouGov poll result: David Cameron (Conservatives) 41%, Nick Clegg (Democrats) 32%, Gordon Brown (Labour) 25%.
Some simple thoughts about the forthcoming elections in Great Britain, I hope you can understand well what I mean though it's not my language.
In history, this great country had a lot to teach about politics to all the other countries in the world, Great Britain is an example. Every country has got something special, if one thinks about Italy probably food, fashion, football, holidays, some opera music, etc. would come to his mind. For me the best one in history, politics, music, etc. is Great Britain. And this is given by more years of experience in something, and Great Britain is a much older country than the very young Italy (in 2011 we are only 150 years old, though the ancient Latin world, which had the greatest empire, was more experienced than the British one, and when you see similar words in English and Italian languages, you can remember that in the whole world all the people are a bit Italian :)
About politics, British politics don't seem to be the best ones lately, with all the problems Labour party had, it was a failure. Similar story here in Italy. Besides, now there isn't that typical British "bipolarism", that was a positive thing.
So, if one wants this "change" (fortunately there's no Obama), he couldn't vote Labour again. As the result of this election is not sure (about who will be the winner), the worst result would be an "alliance government", Uk would seem Germany, I don't think British people would like that much... and it would be a weak coalition.
I've heard that some consider David Cameron of the Conservatives as a male version of Margaret Thatcher. Well this would be positive... Some say there were more unemployed people with the "Iron Lady", but it's totally untrue, in fact unemployment decreased with her reforms, kept by successive governments. It's always the same story, also here in Italy: the conservatives give reforms to the country, the "progressists" keep them (it seems a nonsense). But unfortunately progressists sometimes try to change things which shouldn't change.
Besides, I wonder how UK could have 2 Prime Ministers (Blair and Brown) from Scotland :-S
So I say: Great Britain back to the English (Cameron is from London).
By the way, I follow what the founder of Oasis, the Scottish Alan McGee, thinks about politics now: McGee had enough of the Labour by the year 2000 and declared more interest in football. In late 2009, McGee joined The Sun's campaign against Labour and in favour of the Conservatives, contributing an article to the October 1, 2009 edition of the paper in which, in a significant new development from his previous attacks on New Labour, he praised Conservative leader Cameron, saying of him "At least David Cameron looks like a leader."
The Gallaghers come from the "working class" world, and usually this part of our society used to vote for socialists, Labour, etc. But nowadays this is not true anymore, as statistics also report, they vote more for the Conservatives, because disappointed by socialists and because conservatives are giving new opportunities, ideas, etc., this is happening in Italy.
Besides, all the times Noel Gallagher attacks Blair, the Greens, etc. and says things as in this video below about politics (more police on the streets and a good politician is a rich one), or Liam is wearing military clothes, an Uk flag and a Nazi tattoo, etc., well they both don't really look like socialists... they seem nationalists, as in Quadrophenia film, a manifesto of mods culture, the director said the protagonist would have voted for the BNP, British National Party...
If during these weeks they'll talk about politics, probably they would say to vote for no-one (as Liam already said), so there wouldn't be anyone unhappy among their fans. I think this is a more honest attitude than that of almost all the musicians who attend bullshit as Live 8 and similar pacifist business events (for selling albums...) and then they have caviar & champagne in the backstage...
Here in Italy, as in other countries, the conservatives are blue, the socialists are red.
Oasisblues couldn't do anything but supporting the blues :)
That is also in the name: conserve... we conserve our good old music, Beatles & Oasis...
