Ci sono anche gli Oasis con la cover di My generation nella nuova compilation di Virgin Radio che è uscita in questi giorni .. di seguito tutti i dettagli :

È arrivata l’estate con la sua dirompente carica di musica, concerti e voglia di vacanze. Per festeggiare questo evento Virgin Radio ha pubblicato (al prezzo consigliato di 15.90 euro), in collaborazione con Sony Music, “Revisited Rock”, la sua quarta compilation dopo (“Style Rock”, “Style Rock II”, “Virgin Radio Charts”).

Quindici tracce dedicate ad alcune delle più belle cover incise negli ultimi anni. Brani, alcuni famosissimi altri meno, reinterpretati a seconda dello stile dell’artista che ha scelto di rivisitare il pezzo.

Non c’è da stupirsi allora come la fantastica “Thank You” dei Led Zeppelin (da “Led Zeppelin II”) venga rifatta in modo magistrale dai Duran Duran che intitolarono così il loro album di sole cover del 1995. Sempre per rimanere in ambito ‘rock legends’ suona fantastica “Another Brick In The Wall” dei Pink Floyd reinventata (è proprio il caso di dirlo) dai Korn di Jonathan Davis.

Oppure la rarissima “My Generation” degli Who nella spettacolare versione degli Oasis, “Heroes” del Duca bianco David Bowie in salsa indie rock rivista dai Kasabian. L’irriconoscibile “Fun, Fun, Fun” dei Beach Boys cantata dagli Status Quo.


In “Revisited Rock” c’è spazio anche per “Enjoy The Silence” dei Depeche Mode rifatta dai Lacuna Coil. Tra le altre curiosità una fantastica versione di “The Boys Of Summer” dell’ex Eagles Don Henley rivista dagli Ataris.

In ambito glam rock c’è da sottolineare l’ottima “Let’s Stick Together” di Bryan Ferry rivisitata da KT Tunstall e “Bad Case Of Loving You (Doctor, Doctor)” di Moon Martin reinterpretata dal grande Robert Palmer.


Chiudono la tracklist di questo imperdibile appuntamento con le più belle cover rock la geniale “I Will Survive” dei Cake, “Get Your Own Way” dei Fleetwood Mac cantata dai Cranberries e la celeberrima “Wicked Game” di Chris Isaak riportata al successo dai finlandesi HIM di Ville Valo.

Ci piace chiudere con tre grandi classici: “Dream Lover” di Bobby Darin (incisa nel 1959) ma nella versione dirompente dei Misfits e due classici: “What A Wonderful World” e “We Have All The Time In The World”, entrambe portate al successo dal mitico Louis ‘Satchmo’ Armstrong nelle versioni, rispettivamente, di Joey Ramone e dei Fun Lovin’ Criminals.
